The damaging effects of suicide and self-harm in the youth of the country has become an everyday issue for so many households in Ireland today. With mental health issues now rife among teenagers, YSPI's work has become so much more important. Youth suicide is one of the most distressing issues facing many communities and ironically one of the most preventable through the correct awareness and appproaches. 

Beyond parents or guardians, the next most prominent adult figures in a young person's life is their teachers. Teachers in many cases can be the difference in a child's life especially where the parent-child relationship is weak. Unfortunately teachers receive little to no training in how to use their position and influence to help prevent youth suicide. 

The money raised from my skydive for life will help provide correct training for teachers in how to approach the subject of mental health and well-being in the classroom. Your help in my raising funds and awareness for YSPI and their work would mean the world to me.
