Thank you for visiting my Campaign Page. I am fundraising on behalf of Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland and I would be very grateful for your support in helping me meet the target asked of me. 

You may not know but my son's step brother took his life and I was lucky to have the services of Calms available to my boys when the pain and confusion got too much for them afterwards.  I myself woke up one day and realised that I didn't care if I had woken up or not due to depression from grief and pain.  Depression can be silent and dangerous, it can surround you and spread it's tentacles of darkness within you without you even realising it sometimes. 

It takes huge courage to reach out, to admit how you feel, to open up and talk about feelings you don't even know how to express,  to show your vunerability, to ask for help. So for the services to be readily available when you reach out  is so important.  

I developed a fear of heights through my lifetime and I won't go 2 steps up a ladder.  I told my son I was going this and he laughed at me saying 'but you are afraid of heights mum!'.  It will be an interesting day to say the least :-)
