Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of the Skydive For Life is €280 and you will need to raise an at least an additional €320 to go to YSPI so you will need to fundraise a Minimum Target of €600.
Once you reach this minimum fundraising target you will need to return any money you’ve raised offline to Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland. Most skydivers raise most of their money online so you should add this into your total.
You can, of course, raise more funds than the minimum amount required. You can also, if you wish, donate all of the funds raised to Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland and pay for the skydive yourself.
When we receive funds for your campaign we will send you an acknowledgement and a Donation Receipt from Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland.
Skydiving events are provided by the Irish Parachute Club. Anyone over 18 can take part in this Skydive Experience. You can register if you are under 18 but you MUST be 18 or over on the day of your jump. For more information see Skydive Regulations
The advantage of these Personal Campaign pages is that all funds sponsored or donated come directly to us and we don't have to pay a percentage to anyone for processing the payments. Using our Personal campaign Pages means that 100% of the funds you raise will come to YSPI.
With a Personal Campaign Page you can collect sponsorship online by sharing the link to your Campaign Page on Facebook, Twitter, email etc. All sponsorship donations are made through Stripe, PayPal, ApplePay or GogglePay and are secure. You can also notify us that you are sending funds to us by bank transfer or cheque and the funds total will be added to your raised amount.
Anyone over 16 can register for the Skydive Experience. However you MUST be 18 or over on the day of your jump or you will not be able to participate.
If you have a problem logging into the system please email admin@yspi.ie and we will reset your password.
We automatically give you 12 months to fundraise for the Skydive For Life but you can ask us to extend the authorisation period for another 6 months if required. Due to regulations concerning donations to charities it is at our complete discretion whether you are able to roll over existing donations beyond 12 months from the date of registration.
Most participants take around six months to fundraise but some take less or more than that. You're in control and you can organise any fundraising to suit your circumstances.
Use your online fund-raising page. Create a Facebook page, send the link to your family, friends, co-workers, parishioners, team mates, etc. and collect donations via credit cards online. It’s easy and simple, and eliminates spending a lot of time sending letters, calling people, and organizing big events. We can help you with this just contact aoife@yspi.ie
- Ask for money. Write a letter explaining your cause, why you are involved, who is to benefit, etc. It’s a good idea to request a specific amount or set different levels. (€20 = Silver, €100 = Gold, €500 = Platinum, etc.) Send your letter to everyone, friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, dentist, teacher, and anyone else you interact with.
- Sell stuff. Not for everyone, but a lot of money can be raised by having a car boot or jumble sale.
- Fundraise online. Use the Internet to help with your fundraising efforts.Spread the word on facebook, Snapchat or Twitter.
- Hold a small event. Write down the people you know nearby. Do you know any musicians or celebrities who would play a benefit show? Ask a club you frequent if they would be willing to set aside a special night where a percentage of the door/drinks goes towards your cause if you get people in the door.
- Most importantly, remember to be creative and to have fun while fundraising!
