Every year on our birthdays, if we're lucky enough, we celebrate another year of our lives.
This year for my birthday I would like to give that same opportunity to someone else.
Suicide is preventable and by supporting groups such as YYPI - Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland - we can help to facilitate an opportunity for those people who may have no one else to turn to.
Ireland has the highest suicide rate for female children in the EU, the National Women’s Council of Ireland (NWCI) has warned (2018).
Ireland has the 4th highest rate of youth male suicide in the EU and there are thousands of "suspected" suicides each year that fall under alternative death classifications.
By raising awareness and removing the archaic stigma that surrounds suicide and mental health, we can hopefully encourage young people to open up about the problems that they are facing and provide them with actual concrete resources to cope with difficulties in their lives.
Please help me celebrate my 30th birthday by donating to this life saving, worthwhile cause in lieu of any material item that I do not need. Thank you in advance for your kindness, consideration and empathy for all those who may not be as fortunate.
