Hi, my name is Karl.

Every year over 400 people lose their lives to suicide in Ireland. There are very few communities which have not had to suffer a loss of this kind in recent times. A staggering amount of these people are under the age of 22. Ireland currently has the second highest rate of youth suicide in Europe and Co. Galway has the 3^rd highest suicide rate in the Country. In 2015 alone 66 young people between the ages of 15 and 24 took their own lives.

Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland (YSPI) is a completely donation funded organisation which helps provide young people from the ages of 12 – 22 with information and support to help prevent youth suicide. Last year their network of Volunteers provided their "Four Steps to Help" Suicide Awareness and Prevention talks to over 18,000 students in schools all over the country.

With your help, I plan to help provide the funding YSPI needs in order to increase the number of talks that they are able to provide and expand this vital service to more schools, colleges and youth organisations by participating in the Skydive against Suicide event.

The majority of the funding for YSPI comes from these events and 100% of the funds raised by this Skydive will go towards our youth suicide prevention campaigns and projects. As of 2016 YSPI’s administrative overhead is around 9%.  This means that for every €1 you donate 91c goes directly towards charitable objectives and just 9c goes to the administration of the charity.

My goal is to raise as much as possible but my current target is €500.
