Hello everyone, I Neil Ferry, have chosen to do a skydive to help raise money for "youth suicide prevention Donegal, Ireland".
As a father of 2 children living in Donegal, I think it's so important for the youth of today to have somewhere to turn to if they are
feeling the pressures of growing up in a
society where they are not allowed to make mistakes in life..my childhood was free..
often left to roam outside with friends and
very rarely included electronics if any.
My journey to adulthood included lots of
embarrassing situations but didn't include
the added pressure of social media where
everyone has an opinion and mistakes are
highlighted. As a father I have spoken to
friends affected by suicide who wished their loved ones would have had more access to
services which could have helped their
loved ones feel not so alone. This has made me want to help this charity support those who are needing somewhere to turn to
when they think they have no other avenue.
I really understand that most of us have lost loved ones and that we all have a special
charity that resonates differently to each of us..I just want to highlight this charity for
being a solitude to our young people if
needs be.
To say I'm nervous is an understatement ,
but the benefits of partaking outweigh that hugely.
